EmpiricalScalingThe observed dependant quantity is simply plotted above the varied, "independent" quantity. For example one could measure the hydrogen volumetric concentration in a vertical upwards orientated jet release at different distances along the centerline. Similiar measurements could be made for different velocities at the orifice, the origin of the jet, different orifice diameters, for different gases and so on. In a log-log diagram concentration over distance one might find that all the measurements align well along a straight lines with a slope of -1. |
